  2. The W7 window preview is great for browsers, video players and any other window, which has a large and meaningful content.

For text editors, explorer windows and most other text windows, it sucks, because the preview is not cognizable and so doesn't help you at all. In this case a window title list is far more clear.

So the optimum would be to choose the preview style per application.

  3. I'm using a Win2000-style (or Win95, come to think of it), multiline taskbar with the old-school buttons. Now, in Win7, whenever I have enough programs open for the buttons to go to the second row, the widths of the buttons are not the same on the different rows. The buttons on the first row are kind of compressed, so they take all the available space, but the second row buttons use the maximum space reserved for a single button. This results in the gaps between buttons not being aligned with different rows. The buttons should have equal width all across…

  4. The current position of Windows Media Player in Windows 7 is good enough. It would be good if the minimized version can act like the old windows media player toolbar so we don't waste time hovering our mouse and clicking on the play/pause button.
It would also be nice to have a tiny video shown there so we can watch media while working on something else.

  5. Have the song playing in windows media player show it's name within the minimized bar on the task bar. Have it scrolled so you can read it.

It has nothing to do with the taskbar.
It has to be implemented in WMP.

BTW, WMP is not the optimal player for music. There are many great players out there (e.g. AIMP2, which I use).

  6. An option that goes to the next song when any media player program (WMP, iTunes, etc.) is middle-clicked on the taskbar.

All WMP does when it is middle-clicked is come into focus.

I’ve explained it already… It’s not so difficult, but the x just won’t work.
The bug needs to be fixed, but I can’t manage to reproduce it, so…

  8. Add an option to open the Windows Explorer when a double-click in the free space of the taskbar is detected.

  9. I'd like to report another issue (not error) with Ultramon which is multi monitor tweak program. It's 'Smart Taskbar' feature offers extended taskbars on other monitors but 7TT can't operate on those. Only primary display is possible as you know. Well.. I normally work on more than 20 windows at least so 'm very sad for this inconvenience. Both Dexpot and Ultramon developers co-operate to integrate their programs. They are open-minded so I'd like to ask you to consider integration development with other famous programs.

  10. I work with lots of confidential excel-files. Although I make sure that the files cannot be accessed by third party, i also want to remove the jumplist feature for excel (or word). Is this possible ?

  12. Our users click on the red "X" and close the application. This causes data to be lost and other application level badness.

Please implement a Tweaker feature that can either disable the red "X" entirely, re-direct it to "application focus" or something harmless, or just remove that control/button from the Taskbar.

  13. It would be great, if there will be an option to close all opened windows (as seen in the taskbar). Sure, there should be a conformation-window. The option should have a check: "Forcefully close all opened windows" like "cmd -> taskkill /f /im [APPLICATION]".
Reason for suggesting that feaure: Sometimes there are many, unused windows left, that an option like this will close them easily.

Maybe it is also possible to define the interval to close windows, that are unused after [time x]?

  14. somehow I managed to exit "7 taskbar tweaker" with the taskbar inspector still being open...and I can not close it anymore (but fortunately make it very small so it does not take too much space)..
also I could not find the corresponding process in the task manager, so it would be useful (and probably easy to implement) to have a little red close button for the taskbar inspector..

  15. A bug with the Windows 7 taskbar is that even if Quick launch toolbar is manually created and enabled, it gets disabled after every restart. Vista added a new ITrayDeskBand interface that lets you turn taskbar bands on and off. Can 7TaskbarTweaker simply enable Quick launch at startup using this interface if the user sets it so?

  16. I use 7 TaskBar Tweaker to prevent grouping taskbar buttons by application ID.

I still want a util that keeps a window on top of all other windows, and allows hiding taskbar buttons. If one util could do all three of these things, that would be excellent.

    Thanks!
